Jamie Lawrence, Mirlo Positive Nature
Jamie Lawrence is a Senior Consultant in Mirlo. Jamie served as an elected Board Director Economic Chamber -‘Forest Stewardship Council’ (2012 - 2016) and served on the Technical Working Group (TWG) for Developing the Operationalization Mechanism of the FSC Policy on Conversion (Nov 2019 - Nov 2020). He was a Business Advisory Group member to FSC International's work on ecosystem services as well as a Criteria Development Committee member on ISEAL Alliance’s Standards Innovation Fund (2015/16).
As a forester Jamie has advised Rewilding projects in Europe, designed one of the first ever Forest Positive Corporate strategies (Kingfisher Plc.) and helped leverage corporate and philanthropic funding into forest restoration projects in Spain, Indonesia, UK and China.
Robin Chazdon
Robin Chazdon is Professor Emerita at the University of Connecticut and Research Professor with the Tropical Forests and People Research Centre of the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. She is a consultant with Forestoration International, a Senior Fellow with WRI’s Global Restoration Initiative and a Senior Research Associate with the International Institute for Sustainability in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her research focuses on spatial planning for large-scale restoration and leveraging the potential for natural regeneration. She is an active member of the FAO Task Force on Best Practices for the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration and lead author of the Capacity, Knowledge and Learning Action Plan.
Brendan Mackey, Griffith University Australia
Professor Brendan Mackey is Director of the Climate Action Beacon, Griffith University Queensland. Brendan was a Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC 6th Assessment Report Working Group II - Impacts, Vulnerability & Adaptation. He has published extensively in the fields of forest ecology and management, nature-based mitigation and adaptation solutions and forest landscape planning and has provided technical guidance to the FAO, WMO and IUCN on forest-related issues.
Richard Donovan
Richard Zell Donovan is an independent forest advisor with 45+ years’ experience in community forest enterprises, rural development, forest certification, community forestry, watershed management and biomass energy. He is an individual member of FSC from the northern Economic Chamber. He has worked in 50+ countries in temperate, tropical, and boreal forests for both non-profit organizations and companies. Richard co-founded the FSC in 1990-93 and various other organizations.
From 1992-2019 he was the forestry leader at Rainforest Alliance (RA), represented RA to FSC, and is a very experienced FSC forest auditor. Currently he is chair of the FSC-STD-30-010 Controlled Wood Forest Management standard working group, on the Technical Working Group for FSC-Procedure-010 for normative documents, and heavily engaged on issues around conversion, restoration, community forest enterprises (CFEs), and smallholders (including the original concept designs for the RA Smallholder Access Program and the RA-coordinated Accountability Framework initiative).
