L’avenir de la gestion forestière du FSC : simplification des standards vers une orientation par les résultats

Le concept d'orientation vers les résultats fait partie de la stratégie mondiale de FSC. Deux grands ensembles d'exigences en matière de gestion forestière sont actuellement en cours de révision : la manière dont FSC élabore ses normes de bonne gestion forestière et les principes et critères de FSC ainsi que les indicateurs génériques internationaux. Ils offrent une excellente occasion de faire en sorte que la certification de la gestion forestière soit axée sur l'obtention et la démonstration de résultats positifs en matière de durabilité. Il est important que les membres de FSC comprennent ce qui est en train d'être développé et donnent leur avis sur un changement important pour l'ensemble du système de certification FSC de la gestion forestière.

Franck Trolliet, FSC

Franck is supervising the Monitoring and Evaluation Programme at FSC International, where he has been working and contributing to the developments of monitoring and evaluation activities in the last 8 years. Notably, he has been designing and implementing impact evaluations with external researchers, piloting new data collection technologies, leveraging Forest Management certification data to generate new insights, developing the recent M&E team and contributing to the deployment of outcome orientation in FSC. Franck holds a PhD in forest ecology and has extensive experience in scientific research, field data collection, data analysis and reporting.

Lauri

Lauri Moisander, Luontoa

Lauri is a forester and seasoned sustainability professional with extensive experience in FSC certification, biodiversity conservation, impact assessment and monitoring. He is currently a partner at Luontoa, a company focused on advancing nature-based solutions, responsible forest management, and biodiversity data services. Luontoa helps organizations identify and manage nature-related dependencies, effects, risks and opportunities, and is on a mission to deliver solutions to halting biodiversity loss. Lauri has coordinated the development and testing of outcome monitoring framework for biodiversity involving remote-sensing and eDNA field studies in collaboration with key partners.

Prior to founding Luontoa in 2022, Lauri worked for several years at FSC International, where he served as Technical Expert and Policy Manager for Forest Management. In these roles, he led and contributed to numerous global initiatives, including the revision of group certification and forest management evaluations standards, the development of tools for smallholder and community forest certification, and the revision of the FSC Ecosystem Services Procedure.
