El futuro del manejo forestal del FSC: simplificación de estándares hacia una orientación a resultados
El concepto de orientación a resultados forma parte de la estrategia global de FSC. Actualmente se están revisando dos grandes conjuntos de requisitos de manejo forestal: el modo en que FSC elabora sus estándares de manejo forestal responsable y los principios y criterios de FSC junto con los indicadores genéricos internacionales. Esto ofrece una gran oportunidad para que la certificación del manejo forestal se centre en la obtención y demostración de los resultados positivos previstos en materia de sostenibilidad. Es importante que los miembros de FSC entiendan lo que se está desarrollando y proporcionen comentarios sobre un cambio importante para todo el sistema de certificación de manejo forestal FSC.
Franck Trolliet, FSC
Franck is supervising the Monitoring and Evaluation Programme at FSC International, where he has been working and contributing to the developments of monitoring and evaluation activities in the last 8 years. Notably, he has been designing and implementing impact evaluations with external researchers, piloting new data collection technologies, leveraging Forest Management certification data to generate new insights, developing the recent M&E team and contributing to the deployment of outcome orientation in FSC. Franck holds a PhD in forest ecology and has extensive experience in scientific research, field data collection, data analysis and reporting.
Lauri Moisander, Luontoa
Lauri is a forester and seasoned sustainability professional with extensive experience in FSC certification, biodiversity conservation, impact assessment and monitoring. He is currently a partner at Luontoa, a company focused on advancing nature-based solutions, responsible forest management, and biodiversity data services. Luontoa helps organizations identify and manage nature-related dependencies, effects, risks and opportunities, and is on a mission to deliver solutions to halting biodiversity loss. Lauri has coordinated the development and testing of outcome monitoring framework for biodiversity involving remote-sensing and eDNA field studies in collaboration with key partners.
Prior to founding Luontoa in 2022, Lauri worked for several years at FSC International, where he served as Technical Expert and Policy Manager for Forest Management. In these roles, he led and contributed to numerous global initiatives, including the revision of group certification and forest management evaluations standards, the development of tools for smallholder and community forest certification, and the revision of the FSC Ecosystem Services Procedure.
