Zámba Heritage : une idée africaine audacieuse pour la gestion forestière
Les forêts d'Afrique-les forêts tropicales humides, les forêts afro-montagnardes, les forêts sèches et les tourbières du bassin du Congo - constituent un élément vital pour le climat et la biodiversité à l'échelle mondiale, mais elles sont confrontées à des menaces sans précédent dues à la déforestation, à la dégradation des sols et aux pressions économiques. Alors que la COP30 de 2025 constitue un moment charnière pour l'ambition climatique mondiale, l'initiative Zámba Heritage a été conçue comme une plateforme de mobilisation d’engagements de haut niveau, de partenariats, d'investissements et d'actions audacieuses afin d'intensifier la gestion durable des forêts (GDF) et le développement économique à travers l'Afrique.
Cette session présentera la vision convaincante, les coalitions inspirées et le programme d'action de Zámba Heritage en montrant comment le leadership africain, aux côtés de FSC et de son réseau, favorisera l'alignement des politiques, les investissements et les actions, y compris la consommation durable et l' approvisionnement éthique afin de sécuriser les forêts du continent
Annah Agasha, FSC Africa
Annah Agasha is a forestry expert with 24 years' experience. She currently implements FSC policies and tackles labour issues in Africa. Previously FSC Eastern Africa Coordinator, she pioneered smallholder certification and government engagement. She holds an MSc in Agroforestry and is pivotal in promoting sustainable forestry.
Patrick Piemme Epie, FSC Africa
Patrick Epie is an environmental science and quality management expert. He leads the Congo basin and Western Africa sub-regional office, implementing programmes that advance the FSC Global Strategy. Patrick is driving the goal of certifying 10 million hectares of Congo Basin Forest by 2026.

For over two decades, Dr. Alele has been a driving force in global conservation, known for turning complex challenges into inspiring solutions. He now applies this expertise as the leader of FSC Africa, where his team is revolutionizing sustainable forestry practices and working to certify a significant portion of the continent's vital forests.
Prudence Galega
Prudence Tangham Galega is a distinguished expert in international environmental governance and law. She has shaped national and regional policies in Africa and represented her region in key international forums like the UNFCCC. An advocate for gender equity and indigenous rights, she focuses on aligning legislation with sustainable and inclusive development goals.
