EUDR en Europe et au-delà : lutter ensemble contre la déforestation et la dégradation (EUDR)

Cette session de haut niveau examinera le règlement de l'UE sur la déforestation (RDUE), les dernières mises à jour avant sa mise en œuvre ainsi que sa pertinence plus large dans la lutte contre la déforestation. Nous réunirons un groupe diversifié de parties prenantes afin de discuter de la manière dont les différents acteurs peuvent soutenir une mise en œuvre efficace tout en s'attaquant aux causes profondes. Les sujets abordés comprendront des mises à jour sur le RDUE, les outils de FSC pour la conformité et au-delà, la préparation des entreprises et les expériences des premiers adoptants, les perspectives de la société civile et les efforts en matière de gouvernance forestière mondiale. Les participants auront un aperçu pratique de la manière dont le RDUE fonctionnera dans la pratique, en mettant l'accent sur les chaînes de valeur du bois et du caoutchouc. Nous aborderons également la manière de tirer parti des initiatives existantes, de surmonter les difficultés de mise en œuvre et d'aligner les exigences légales sur les objectifs de durabilité. La session vise à identifier des synergies et à promouvoir des solutions collaboratives pour des chaînes d'approvisionnement résilientes, transparentes et exemptes de déforestation.

Caroline Duhesme, ATIBT

Caroline Duhesme is Director of Innovation and Strategy at ATIBT. A tropical forestry engineer with over 20 years’ experience, she specializes in forest certification, traceability, and regulatory compliance. She has led numerous technical and strategic missions across Central Africa, Asia, and Europe. At ATIBT, she heads the ATIBT Certification and Carbon Commissions and actively contributes to building transparent, sustainable, and competitive timber supply chains.

Glenda Amarilis Lee Pinto

Glenda Lee has twenty three years of experience as Natural Renewable Resources Engineer with a specialization in forest certification in Sweden, South Africa and Guatemala, as well as carbon markets. She has expertise as an advisor to companies to ensure compliance with the requirements for FSC for forest management in rubber plantations and other forest species, as well as CoC in timber and paper industries, so they can be certified. Also has experience with Ecosystem Services implemented in one rubber farm in Guatemala, and recently implementing the Regulatory Framework to comply with EUDR for rubber farms. Is an active member of FSC in the Economic Chamber South, since 2006 and was part of the WG for the Central American FSC standard and currently in the WG for the Trademark Use Standard. Glenda has been Chair in the FSC National Office in Guatemala as well as in Defensores de La Naturaleza Foundation, in charge of 4 protected Areas in Guatemala.

Matteo

Matteo Mascolo, FSC

Matteo is the Global Lead for Sustainability Policy – Europe at the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). In this role, he works across both EU and international sustainability agendas, advocating for responsible forest-based solutions in the areas of climate, biodiversity, and the circular economy. Matteo also co-leads Working Group 4 on biodiversity and sustainable consumption and production under the One Planet Network within the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Italian, Matteo holds a J.D. in Law and an LL.M. in EU Law from the College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium.
