Forests for All Forever: Circular Visions for FSC

As FSC members increasingly engage in circular business models, FSC is adapting to remain a relevant and attractive tool — supporting our members in their efforts to stay within planetary boundaries.
Join FSC’s Circularity Hub for an interactive workshop exploring potential FSC-solutions for the circular economy. The demand for forest-based products is increasing across industries as diverse as packaging, construction, textiles, and even the car industry. This intensifies pressure on forests. Some projections foresee a quadrupling in demand for forest-based fibers by 2050—a trajectory far beyond what forest ecosystems can supply while remaining healthy, resilient systems capable of helping us mitigate and adapt to climate change.
Designed for all knowledge levels, this hands-on session invites members to discuss and improve draft solutions that could integrate circular business models in FSC's CoC standards, enable the use of other natural fiber types of responsible origin under FSC, ensure financial incentives for forest owners to maintain healthy ecosystems, and enable cascading fiber use.
