

Florencia Garza
Florencia Garza is an expert in social innovation, ecosystem leadership, and regenerative cultures. Through her consulting firm, she works with nature-based social innovation, designing and facilitating participatory methodologies and programs for effective stakeholder engagement, translating theory into practice across territories and ecosystems. An international member of the FSC social chamber and founder of the Tutores de Resiliencia Social Innovation Lab, she drives solutions integrating well-being, community resilience, and socio-environmental regeneration, flourishing through diversity, interdependence, and collective intelligence.

Julia Young
Julia Young has extensive experience in natural resources management, including exploration geology and mining, and moved into international environmental law and policy with a particular focus on governance and voluntary stewardship of the environment. She led work on global forest management and trade (GFTN) in the UK with WWF from 2007, including forest certification, with diverse businesses, civil society, and government actors, before leading global forest sector strategy and engagement on for the WWF network until mid-2022. She is currently Director of Policy and Standards at the HCV Network. Julia has lived and worked long term in southern Africa, the UK, and now Sweden.

Mike Bekin
Mike Bekin was the proposer of the original M9/2022, and together with Julia and Florencia, has put forward this new M9/2025. Born in Brazil, he is on the board of FSC UK and is passionate about how FSC can make a significant contribution to the climate and biodiversity crises.
