The future of FSC’s Forest Management Certification: Social aspects, climate change & biodiversity aspects in the Principles, Criteria & Indicators Revision
FSC’s Principles and Criteria and International Generic Indicators are being publicly consulted during the conceptual phase. This session will empower FSC Members to dive deeper into the key topics under consultation.
1) To inform about the key topics under revision in the conceptual phase for the PCI Revision, as well as learn how to navigate the consultation.
2) To understand how climate change and biodiversity are represented in the PCI, as well as worker's rights and gender equality
3) To understand the proposed direction of these key topics in the PCI revision
In this interactive session, participants will unpack three guiding questions related to the social aspects and climate change in the FSC’s Principles and Criteria and International Generic Indicators:
- What do you consider to be the key strengths/core values of existing PCI in relation to social and environmental aspects?
- How should the next version of PCI address cross cutting aspects such and Indigenous Peoples rights?
- How should the next version of the PCI address climate change and strengthen biodiversity conservation?
