El legado de Zámba – Una audaz idea africana de gestión forestal

Los bosques africanos –las selvas tropicales, los bosques afromontanos, los bosques secos y las turberas de la cuenca del Congo– son un salvavidas mundial para el clima y la biodiversidad, pero se enfrentan a amenazas sin precedentes por la deforestación, la degradación del suelo y las presiones económicas. Con la COP30 en 2025 como momento crucial para la ambición climática mundial, la iniciativa Zámba Heritage se concibió como una plataforma para movilizar compromisos de alto nivel, asociaciones, inversiones y acciones audaces para ampliar el manejo forestal sostenible (MFS) y el desarrollo económico en toda África.

Esta sesión presentará la inspiradora  visión de Zámba Heritage, sus coaliciones motivadas y su agenda de acción, mostrando cómo el liderazgo africano, junto con FSC y su red, impulsará la alineación de políticas, inversiones y acciones, incluidos el consumo sostenible y el abastecimiento ético para asegurar los bosques del continente.
